When did you have this account and have you been constantly an ntl and Virgin Media customer with the same account since you first registered the ntl email address?
If you ceased being a customer then any email accounts you had are theoretically deleted 90 days after you've left. If you've not been a customer for longer than the aforementioned 90 days that the account will have been deleted. Even if it hadn't been deleted for some reason, you'd still gain no assistance from Virgin Media to resurrect it or help you access it again. You only get an email account if you are an actual customer and Virgin Media are not obligated to maintain the accounts of those who've left or those who are not their customers.
