Hacked Email

Hello,

 It’s just come to my attention that someone  hacked and has been using my virgin media email address. I've been locked out of my account as they have changed my password. I've tried reaching the Virgin Media security team unfortunately they haven't been helpful at all. Can anyone advise whether I can reclaim my email or prevent the hackers using my email address. God knows how much harm they have already incurred.
