Filter settings to block .eu spam

I've tried many, many ways to set up an email filter on my Blueyonder (Virgin) email, which automatically rejects, moves to Trash and Discards all incoming emails ending in .eu but the junk mail keeps pouring in.

Examples I've tried:

Address, Header, From / Part, User Ends With .eu

Address, Header, From / Part All Ends With .eu

Address, Header, From / Part Domain Ends With .eu

What EXACTLY are the correct filter setting to stop this onslaught?

Filters only execute against messages delivered to your Inbox; those identified as Spam by Virgin Media go directly to your Spam folder meaning filters never have an opportunity to run against them.

Re: Filter settings to block .eu spam

I logged on to webmail & set up a filter there - If ‘from’ contains .eu don’t download/delete it immediately.

Re: Filter settings to block .eu spam

The filter's matching condition Contains is imprecise meaning it will match any from address containing the text .eu, for example:

Welty, Eudora <welty.eudora@example.org>

If that is not an issue then do consider @Anankha suggestion otherwise use a regular expression (Regex) instead, see Re: How does this spam get to me?

By the way, of the filters mentioned in your previous post the following two should have worked:

Address, Header, From / Part All Ends With .eu

Address, Header, From / Part Domain Ends With .eu

Yes, I can see that the example filters I created should work, and should kill any incoming traffic ending with .eu but quite simply, it doesn't work.

Ran a test against .uk using the following filter:
2020-08-13-00.jpeg
which resulted in the following test message being correctly flagged; note highlighted uk and red flag colour:
2020-08-13-01.jpeg
With confirmation that this type of filtering condition works the most obvious cause for why the .eu filter might not is pre- and/or post-  whitespace, for example a condition value of “.eu ” would never match because of the trailing whitespace character.

Thanks for the post Rob_Davis.

Have you tried the above?

How did this go?

Thanks, Emily.
