Every few seconds emails disappear to the bottom of the screen as I type.  I can get them back but have lost the last few words.  This happens with Chrome, Edge and other browsers.

I have restarted everything and cleared history and cache.

Which antivirus / malware scanner are you using and is there any chance it is the cause of the behaviour seen when composing a message?

Just a thought but the description " emails disappear to the bottom of the screen.........I can get them back............. This happens with Chrome, Edge and other browsers."  fits with what happens when you hit the Windows logo key   coenoby_0-1670417865497.png and the "m" key ( Windows logo key + M).

That keyboard short cut minimises all open windows down the icons in the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen and happens whichever browser you are using,

So if, for example, you were accessing VM webmail using Chrome and inadvertently pressed those two keys at the same time  the VM webmail screen would minimise down to the Chrome icon in the Task Bar and you can restore/open it up again it by clicking on the Chrome icon.

However, I'm not sure that would explain about losing the last few words you were typing except perhaps if you continue typing after the browser window minimises.

If it's not that then I'm out of ideas at the moment, sorry.

Thanks for the suggestion I did wonder and have tried to replicate this but it is different. What is happening is that the email I am composing is suddenly minimised, the rest of the application remains open.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have AVG which has caused problems with some browsers but not recently.

Before temporarily disabling AVG to see if it is the cause of the issue can you see if the problem persists when using your browser's Private / Incognito mode.

Hi KRutter

Thanks for posting on the forum in regards to the email issues experienced, we appreciate the concern these can cause and you taking the time to post.

Have you been able to follow the steps and advice offered by the forum members coenoby and 用心棒? Did this help resolve or diagnose the issue at all?

Please let us know.

Rob

Hi Rob,

Opera:   private browsing, still  happened

Opera:  mail.virginmedia.com put in as an exceptionfor AVG, email would not open, unknown error

Does not seem to be happening with Internet Explorer or the AVG Secure Browser so I will continue to try them.

Thanks,

Keith

@KRutter

Thanks for coming back with that update.

I have never used Opera but out of interest I have installed it to see if I could replicate what you have experienced.

Tried composing several messages without any issues. However, I use Kaspersky rather than AVG which may be significant. 😉

Thank you KRutter.

Please do let us know if the issue starts to occurs on the browsers you have tried.

Sadly, it may be the case that the AVG software on Opera is causing the issue which does mean we won't be able to replicate the problem.

Let us know if we can help.

Thanks,
