Email sign in

We have recently moved home. We had to change from Virgin Media to Sky as Virgin is not In our area! We have kept our old  NTL World email addresses.

However,  now when we try to get on our emails on the laptops, Virgin emails are telling us we are entering the wrong password!/ username!  We are not!

We have been going round In circles for days!! I can still get my emails on my iPad and iPhone but not on my laptop! It's a complete mystery!  Can you please help?

Hello

From what you have said it does look like that your email address has been deleted, virginmedia do not do free email addresses.

As per the T&C when you leave and no longer have a virginmedia broadband account normally the email addresses will be removed after 90 days, if you no longer have a account you are not actually entitled to use a virginmedia email address.

Thank you for the prompt reply.. I didn't know this! So It looks like I  need to make a new email account before I lose the emails from my Ipad.

Welcome to our Community Forums and thanks for posting. 

 

@DJ_Shawdow1966 is spot on. You would need to have an active broadband service with us in order to use the email accounts. 

 

We will give you 90 days to access your email account after you switch providers. After that 90-day period, the account will be closed and all your messages and contacts will be deleted.

First of all - While what everyone else is saying is correct, I note that you can still get emails on your other devices.

Therefore what you need to do is check your laptop settings?  How are you accessing your emails, POP3 or IMAP?

I suspect that on the laptop it may be the former, if so check that your username does not have the key word recent: in front of it.  This is a holdover from Gmail days and in fact has done nothing since 2015.  VM simply quietly removed it from the login stream, this is no longer happening though, which results in failed logins.

N.B.  If you do manage to get emails working on the laptop, consider the address on borrowed time, and take measures to create an email that's not linked to an ISP account.
