Thanks for reply/info

I have set up my blueyonder email in Outlook, but the only emails are ones received today and ones from 2005(very confusing) the update also wiped out all my email contacts.I just don't know if there's a way to access and recover my old emails. I'm stuck as to what to do next ??

could check to see if old pst file (that stores emails,contacts etc), by going to e.g.
c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook to see if you see multi pst files.

could try an import the older file

You are a star !!! The emails were saved as pst files so have now recovered them !!
