Re: Deleting alternative email address as it has been hacked

First you should regain control, so you can assess any damage done and rectify it.

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-mail-my-email-has-been-hacked

Then after you are sure you will NEVER need it again, you can delete for yourself from the primary billing account, select My Profile >> Manage accounts tab

I recommend deleting all emails and contacts via webmail first, and after the deletion process, double-check the mailbox is gone from the VM servers by running the address through https://mailtester.com.  Then you can be sure it is completely finished.

Is it a blueyonder alias address listed as an alternative under My Profile?

If so then you are correct, it will need to be referred by the Forum Team to their IT guys for deletion.

Re: Deleting alternative email address as it has been hacked

Ok, they will reach this thread in due course and will reply.  They will also need to contact you via Private Message to get the necessary details.

They have only recently had the ability to delete such aliases added to their capabilities.

Re: Deleting alternative email address as it has been hacked

Hi there @sam168

Welcome back to our Community - sorry that you're inundated with Spam currently. Have you made sure you've checked all your spam settings to help reduce this?

Is the email address linked to a current active account?

If so and if it's the primary email address, this cannot be deleted.

If it's a secondary account, you can delete this via your online account

If you're no longer a customer or the email is no longer linked to an active account, the email address will be automatically purged within 90days of the account closing

Cheers

Katie - Forum Team
