Cannot receive emails

For about a week now I can send emails but cannot receive them or sign in to my virgin media account or check webmail.  It doesn't seem to recognise me.  I have tried changing password in case for some reason it's incorrect but when I put in the security answers they are not recognised either.

My husband's email on the same outlook is working fine, sending and receiving.

I am not at all technically minded so I'd be grateful if someone from Virgin could take a look at my account for me. 

If it was just on Outlook I would use webmail but it seems to be more like I am not being recognised.

I only get a moment to read the error message but the error code is 0X800CCCOE

Which antivirus are you using?
If third party does it have a mail scanner? If so try turning it off.

Thank you for replying.  I telephoned in the end and got my password reset.   Several days later I got a letter from Virgin saying someone had tried to get into my account.  All sorted now though my anti virus and malwarebytes and spywareblaster didn't show anything at all.

Often, if someone tries accessing an account with an incorrect username &/or password too many times the account is locked so a new password needs to be created.
