If I am connected to my home VM by WiFi on my iPhone emails send and received fine.
soon has I go on 4G ( EE ) emails receive but fail to send error password incorrect
In the absence of more details such as error codes, the most likely reason is that your email app is not configured to use authenticated settings for outgoing mail.
When sending from your home VM connection it is possible for VM to check your entitlement to send using the IP address when using the older settings.

Thx for the reply all settings are correct has per link
dunno if this is a EE or VM problem thou
its looks like the SMTP server isn’t working on the EE network for some reason
Not getting any error codes but a pop up saying
can not send email
The username or password for .......@ntlworld.com is incorrect
Unfortunately the iOS system is not good at providing meaningful error messages.
I'm sure this issue of sending ok via home connection working Vs not working on Mobile data has been raised before here.
Sadly I don't have a handy link to the relevant threads. Other community members may do and if so I hope they can respond and help.
As it is an iPhone, please read this sticky post and see if following the advice helps. If not, please let us know and we can search for other reasons.

Not sure that is relevant given the actual issue raised. Happy to be proved wrong.
