Over the last few days my husband has lost access to his Blueyonder email account from phone and tablet. He has had the email account for over 10 years no longer Virgin customer due to Virgin not being in our area. Is there any advice on how he can recover his email address?

Sadly, if it's been more than 3 months since you had a VM broadband account then it's not good news I'm afraid.
According to VM's broadband terms and conditions, VM are supposed to delete all related email accounts 90 days after the broadband account is closed.
In reality it seems that in the past VM often left these old email accounts open for years.
VM no longer issues VM email accounts to new VM broadband customers or allows existing customers to create new VM email accounts. VM do still support the email accounts of existing broadband customers but the longer term future of the VM email service is unknown. So possibly VM are now belatedly doing their housework and deleting these old email accounts.
Past experience of posters on this forum suggests that VM never give any warning before deleting old accounts.
The VM Forum Team (VM staff who support this forum) are sometimes able to regain temporary access for ex customers to allow them to download anything they need from the account. However in many cases that seems to be impossible.
One of the Forum Team will contact you via this thread but there is only a skeleton staff on duty over the holiday period so that may not be until the New Year.
Even if he is able to get temporary access to the Blueyonder email account there is no way your husband is going to regain long term access to his Blueyonder account.
Therefore, unless he already has an alternative email account, he needs to open an new email account with one of the many free providers. See here for some ideas - https://www.lifewire.com/best-free-email-accounts
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I know it is a real pain to lose an email account without warning. Hopefully the Forum Team can restore temporary access to the account - they will advise you about that.

Hello thank you for your reply, hopefully VM will respond. Even temporary access would be appreciated.

One of the Forum Team will definitely contact you via this thread.
The problem is that it may well be next week. There are very few VM staff on Forum duty today and tomorrow and none at all on duty on New Years day.
Just to explain, this forum is a "community" forum so most first responders such as myself are VM customers. Often we can help posters resolve issues without VM staff getting involved at all but, obviously, cases such as yours require VM staff to intervene.
I'll keep an eye on this thread for a response from the Forum Team. They will do what they can for you but it may not be technically possible to restore access even on a temporary basis.

Thank you again, we understand that it is likely to be after the new year before VM staff are back working fully. Thank you again for your help and advice.

Hey karenh73,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.
I have had a read over the thread - so I am up to speed with what's happened here. Great advice from @coenoby - thank you for that. What I will do is send you over a private message so I can confirm some details with you to look into this.
Cheers,
Ryan.
