Username: <full blueyonder email address>

Password: <email password>

Use SSL: Yes

Authentication: Password

Port: 993

Outgoing

HostName: smtp.virginmedia.com

Username:  <full blueyonder email address>

Password: <email password>

Use SSL: Yes

Authentication: Password

Port: 465

Can anyone help??

Re: Blueyonder email access issues iPhone11

Hello

Are you still a Virginmedia Broadband Customer  ?

If you are not a Broadband customer it could be that the email address has been deleted as normally when you leave after 90 days your account should be deleted, although some hang around for much longer as they get missed by the cleanup, email usage is only given to customers with a broadband account.

You can check if the email address still exists at https://email-checker.net/

Can you still access your email with webmail https://my.virginmedia.com/my-apps/email/mailbox ?

Regards Mike

Sorry I should have said, I can access webmail fine. The blueyonder email address is linked to an active virgin media account

Re: Blueyonder email access issues iPhone11

When does this issue arise, on your home wifi or away from home on some other wifi? Does it occur if you try to use mobile data. Who is your mobile data provider?

Re: Blueyonder email access issues iPhone11

Sorry folks, I will close this off as user error. I've done a password reset via virgin media site and its resolved my issue. Still strange because I could access the webmail without issue.

All working again now though.

Many thanks for your advice / recommendations.

Re: Blueyonder email access issues iPhone11

Not user error and you did a great and intuitive thing. And its reminded me of something. We've seen a lot of a very specific error recently and it automatically makes us think on one path. You've sparked off a thought in my mind about another case.

The VM servers that hold passwords are distributed across the system and can get out of sync. What you did got them back into sync. Gold star and some kudos!
