Blueyonder SMTP details not working on iPad

I’d like to think I wasn’t thick, but this is killing me.

i can receive emails - I just can’t send them.

webmail works fine, but not mail on my iPad? 

SMTP.blueyonder.co.uk

username (full email address)

password (correct - I’m receiving emails)

port 465

SSL on

 

error isn’t: Cannot Send Mail

The username or password for “SMTP:XXXXX@blueyonder.co.uk@smtp.blueyonder.co.uk” is incorrect.

 

the error message implies it’s using 2 SMTP’s, but I’m not sure? 

any ideas? 

(It’s the same if I use VirginMedia.com details, too).

Ive rebooted several times.

 

Ive deleted and reinstalled it - but same issues?

 

Any help gratefully appreciated.

It’s my mother in laws iPad - thought I’d mention that. Email has worked for well over a year, it stopped sending about a week ago. She assures me she’s not fiddled with anything (she’s 76 - I believe her!)

 

Ive just set the same account up on my personal iPad - exactly the same problem. Damn this is annoying!
