Blacklisted emails

Why do email addresses I have Blacklisted still get through?

it is likely the local-part is different whilst the domain-part of the email address remains the same; for example if richard.branson@​virginmedia.com  was blacklisted then those emails would trigger the blacklist filter resulting in delivery to your Spam folder however an email from richardbranson@​virginmedia.com  would be delivered to your Inbox.

I'm getting the same.  I blacklist an email address and I'm still getting loads of mails from the same address.

 

Does that mean that the blacklist functionality is failing?

The black list in Virgin media mail just moves dubious mail not picked up by their spam filters to the spam folder.

They are arriving in my spam folder.  They way I read things, I expected those blacklisted to vanish. 

If that is the case, then so be it.
