I want to copy to hard drive old 2011 emails locked away in virgin media (blueyonder) folders for a family project. The files must be EML format, exact copies dates, to/ from and attachments, and capable to load into alternative webmail or reload back to Virgin Media account.
I can see several possible options: I thought to use a suitable EML viewer to study content and attachments, can you recommend suitable EML viewer software, or perhaps the 'save as file' option would be suitable for exact copies of EML emails to disk.
Another possible alternative would be full backup software, but its not clear what packages are compliant for virgin media, most appear to favour businesses and are very expensive into hundreds of pounds and not suitable on cost.
Hope this forum can assist.

Issue with webmail's Save as file option is that of selecting the emails to save; there is no easy method to select all emails in a folder and even when you do it will not include the content of subfolders.
Consider using MailStore – Email Archiving Solutions (private user version is free) or similar package to backup and read email; please make sure to test whichever solution you choose is suitable for your needs.
