BLUEYONDER EMAIL ADDRESS

hI i SET UP A BLUE YONDER EMAIL ADDRESS YEARS ago.  I bought a new laptop this week and have paid PC World to download all my info from my old laptop to the new one.  Unfortunately I cannot remember my email password and need to be allowed to re-set the password.  As you are now the people in charge of blue yonder business I need to ask you to let me know what I have to do to re-set my password.  I am desperate for this information as I cannot use my new laptop until I can change the password.  My old laptop is soooooooooooooooo slow.  PLEASE PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME.

Re: BLUEYONDER EMAIL ADDRESS

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-reset-username-and-password

All you need at this link.

And a further point. I suppose you do access your account using My Virginmedia to look at bills and other stuff. If you do then you'll know that the password for My VM is the same as your email password? So perhaps you do know your VM mail password.

Re: BLUEYONDER EMAIL ADDRESS

Hi thanks for the advice.  My problem is I do not have a Virgin Media account.  I set my blueyonder account up years ago and then Virgin Media took it over.  Virgin Media on taking blue yonder over must have he power to be able to let me re-set my password.  Thanks anyway.

Re: BLUEYONDER EMAIL ADDRESS

If your no longer a Virgin customer the email should have been deleted after 90days so it no longer exists only active virgin internet customers have access to email so unless you backed up your emails they have gone forever

Re: BLUEYONDER EMAIL ADDRESS

@brendalewis

This thread shows the danger of making assumptions. I should have checked that you had an active and paid for VM broadband account. That is a precondition for the use of the VM mail system. You apparently do not and VM have done what they should have done long ago - stopped your use of VM mail. VM do not provide free email for non VM customers.

There is no point in you pursuing this further,. VM will not give you access to the account or address.

Re: BLUEYONDER EMAIL ADDRESS

I really appreciate the fact that you are trying to help.  I am going to explain things clearer.

1. I lived in Eastcote and had Sky broadband first then went on to Virgin.  No problems.

2.  2 years ago we moved to Devon where there is no Virgin Media connections so we are now with BT.

3.  Blue Yonder as a company were taken over by Virgin Media and now I am left with this situation.

4.  I would never try to get my emails for no cost.  You have been a bit unfair in that assumption.

Again thanks for your initial input on what is a genuine serious problem for me.

Re: BLUEYONDER EMAIL ADDRESS

You need to get your facts right if you are going to quote facts. I was with Telewest and so have a BY email address. Blueyonder  (BY) was not taken over by anyone. BY was the name that Telewest gave to its broadband and email services. Telewest merged with NTL and they jointly rebranded the company as Virgin Media. VM nor its predecessor companies ever offered an email service that did not have some financial tie to the company concerned, whether as part of the subscription or a share telephone revenue when dial-up existed. My advice was, in terms, correct and I made no assumptions about your motives or desires to have an email service.

You will, in no circumstances, be able to access your email account now that VM have deleted it.

You might want to consider an important lesson from what is a disappointing outcome for you. Do not tie your email to your ISP. Use one of the many free, but often ad supported, services that specialise in email. That way you can always keep your address when you move home or change ISPs or whatever.

I try to be helpful but there is no point in not setting out the facts clearly.
