453 4.1.1 Too Many Recipients (VM602)" message

Hello, I've searched Google, but to no avail, so now I'm here.

Since yesterday evening,  every time I attempt to send an email,  I get the error message: "453 4.1.1 Too Many Recipients (VM602)". It only affects my account and not my wife's.

This only happens through Outlook 2016 and not via the web portal or mobile phone.

Never come across this before, so any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Neil

The nominal limits are – 100 if sending using an email client – such as Outlook - and 500 if you are using Webmail.

HOWEVER, VM actively manages traffic volumes through the mail servers and may apply lesser limits at peak times - such as at XMAS when lots of people (apparently) send greetings to their entire contact list. They may also apply individual limits on an hourly basis.

Re: 453 4.1.1 Too Many Recipients (VM502)" message

Hi Billc45,

Thanks for your reply.  I don't send many emails and certainly not that many. I'm wondering if it is to do with my CCTV camera, that was for several months, out of order and finally yesterday, back working.

PS. I've edited my heading to show the correct code, "VM602" and not "VM502", if that makes any difference.

Yes, VM 502 is a measure of total messages per day. If , as you suspect, your CCTV is playing up, that could be sending a stream of messages. Can you turn it off for a trial period?

Yes, I meant 602 in above.

Re: 453 4.1.1 Too Many Recipients (VM502)" message

Hi Megan_L,

Thank you and yes, it seems to have worked  and much appreciated BillC45's input,  especially as Google was no help with regards to the error code.

I apologise for not replying sooner, but it's been a bit manic.

Regards,

ND
