421 Policy Violation Error from ionos

I've just had an undeliverable from a contact who I've emailed many times before from my ntlworld.com address.

The remote server returned the below error when attempting delivery:

421:421-kundenserver.de (mxeue112) Nemesis ESMTP Service not available 421-Service unavailable 421-Reject due to policy violations.

Any ideas?

The explanation link clearly stated the issue:


421 Rejected due to policy violations

Problem:

Due to a poor delivery rate by sending to too many non-existent email addresses, the IP address of your email server is blocked from sending email to IONOS customers.

Your sender address has been reported as a spam sender in the past.

Solution:

Review and clean up your email sending list by deleting inactive and outdated recipient addresses. Restart the email dispatch at a later time.

Virgin Media need to secure the reputation of their SMTP server (80.0.253.74, know-smtprelay-omc-10.server.virginmedia.net) by reducing its misuse by miscreants to send spam. Until this improves use webmail.

Thank you for your reply. Is there any easy way to report this to VirginMedia do you know, I don’t fancy trying to explain that to technical support people after dialling 150!?

I will use webmail as you suggest in the meantime.

I have flagged your post to the forum team who are best placed to look the SMTP server issue; be aware it can take them a few hours / days to respond.
