what does being a VM trialist involve?

Does it ever result in loss of service, or a lot of work?
can you end a trial if it causes problems?

Re: what does being a VM trialist involve?

it involves you essentially beta testing products and providing feedback on how they work.

Re: what does being a VM trialist involve?

Does it ever cause problems that take more than a few hours to sort out?
Or does it usually work quite smoothly
Why I am asking is that my partner works in local government and
is very involved in making sure that schools have a means to report their
requirements to local government during the covid crisis and get assistance within minutes
I dont want to do anything to jeopardise the good working of any of our
connections (broadband, phone, mobile etc) because obviously schools and government are
critical infrastructure
so If it's just a case of saying wow this new box is great or hey the new box is awful let me reconnect the old
box then great but if beta testing means long down time I cannot do it

Re: what does being a VM trialist involve?

All beta testing comes with potential issues.  I have been involved in a number of varied trials with VM, none of which have led to a loss of total service.

That said I don't think that VM are inviting trialists for any active trials at the moment.

Re: what does being a VM trialist involve?

Form my experience you just get the release versions a bit sooner than anybody else! VM seemed to take very little notice of the feedback from the testers on the one I was involved in and just pushed the product out the everyone full of problems.

Re: what does being a VM trialist involve?

Exactly the same as what sky did.

I was on their trial community and they had pretty much zero interest in listening to feedback. By the time the trialists got the product all the decisions had already been made.
