Well apparently all virgin prices are going up RPI+3.9%. So just like everyone else, Virgin are imposing Inflation Busting rises, along with a patronising statement '"we know things are tough right now".
It seems you have to threaten to leave, which just shows that we are not being charged at cost prices, instead we are being charged at mugs prices.

Hi yes very true . i have been a VM customer for over 15 years & i must say that i always got a very good deal from them but having said that since they merged with O2 i do think that there is a change on how VM treats its customers & more on getting the most money from them . like all the ISP big players they are ending RTC in the T&Cs . my contract ends in July so i will wait & see what they come up with if i go for a new deal i will insist on no increase in price for the hole of my contract & if they so no then i may cancel my account .

Hi yes think you are correct . my contract ends in July so i will see what thay offer think i will cut my package down to 50meg / evening / weekend calls & cancel the tv & if that is srill to expencive then i will walk away after 16 years . Vodafone looks interesting 145 meg & home phone at £ 27.00 per month .

AIUI... once you receive the letter/email that officially advises you of the price rise then you have till the date shown on there to cancel with no disconnection fees at all.
Albeit details of how are not working on their website on most browsers !

Just got the letter re the price rise on the contract whose price was supposed to be fixed till June this year.
Difference from the start of contract to now? We have FTTP and a choice.
Looks like a long term relationship is a out to end
