packaging of HUB could be improved.. :) :)

yes the hub is great, it has lots of stick on labels, a little plastic card that slides out to help you with passwords....

one thing missing though.. the settings password!!  It can only be found underneath the hub...

best way is to take a photo! 🙂

next after you have changed the hub name, guest name , login password (s) , and the settings password...

NOW all the labels are useless... I stuck a small plastic folder on the plastic card, to hide the 'hint' for my password...

Idea for the packaging team??????  🙂

what idea are you suggesting here?
you do realise that writing down passwords is not the best security plan.

please re read.. 🙂
quote "to hide the '**** HINT ****' for my password..."

Virgin media has printed out the passwords on 4 labels, one plastic insert, and on the bottom of the Hub.. 😛

Re: packaging of HUB could be improved.. :) :)

those are the default passwords that you get when you do a factory reset.
of course you would need those written down otherwise you wouldn't be able to access the hub.

however, you should change them straight away, and as such they shouldn't be written down or a hint written down, and even if you did you wouldn't attach them to the hub!  [REMOVED].

Re: packaging of HUB could be improved.. :) :)

ok, then if I said 'house' and you know my hub name is wine , how long would it take for you to guess my password?? you DO know those are not 'real',ok?? :):)

I am betting you don't know where I live or used to live, what music i like, etc...

be smart with passwords, you can remember a **six** word one easily!! https://xkcd.com/936/

current tech will only take about a thousand years to crack...and then its changed every month or so..

you need to watch 'the imitation game' film about Turing..

i'm struggling to think what "innapropriate language" might have been used here. nothing springs to mind.
it's difficult to refer to guidelines when one doesn't know what was removed.

but someone who lives in your house probably would. and those are the people that would have access to said piece of paper with the details on it.

Re: packaging of HUB could be improved.. :) :)

chenks , do PLEASE answer my question!! I am guessing you do NOT have a HUB 3 (it is actuilly TWO devices in one..

go on, if you see my hub, with a label saying 'HOUSE' - try guessing the password.. Or is that too much strain, rather just moaaan... 😛
