My uncle went into a care home 4 weks ago.  His flat is going back to the council and I want to cancel his package.  How do I do this?

Re: elderly relative

Arranging power of attorney is a complex process.  The fundamental condition is that the donor has to have mental capacity to agree to the power being set up.  This can be problematic.

In normal circumstances I would suggest calling VM in your Uncles presence so he can clear the security questions and then pass the phone over to you.

I will escalate this to see if the Forum Team can find a way to expedite this.

Re: elderly relative

My pleasure, I am genuinely sorry i had to "pass the buck" so to speak.  But they have more scope than I do.
