Why is Virgin not concerned with their impact on urban trees?

You would think that Virgin being an enlightened and forward looking company that cares about the environment would NOT burry their cables 10 cm form a tree, preventing its replanting, while they could move them only a little. But no, the engineer does not seem concerned about this,

Could anyone in Virgin comment on the policy? and more importantly on this regrettable lack of concern?

Thanks

Re: Why is Virgin not concerned with their impact on urban trees?

It's also possible to replant the tree elsewhere.

Anywhere this has nothing to do with network or broadband faults so I'll request it's moved elsewhere

Yes call VM and ask them to do it - it will be £99 for a no fault call out.

Garry: Why do you bother replying to things just to take petty swipes at people using these forums?

He's asking a reasonable question about what Virgin's policy is in regards cabling near trees. If you don't know then don't bother replying. Clearly moving the tree isn't an option.

That said I suppose we can count our blessing you didn't ask if the tree was wired or wireless.

Re: Why is Virgin not concerned with their impact on urban trees?

i'm not sure what the OP means by "preventing its replanting".
is the tree being replanted? that suggests it is being moved?

however i doubt having a virgin cable 10cm from a tree in a shallow depth is going to have any impact on a tree.

Re: Why is Virgin not concerned with their impact on urban trees?

Also nothing posted so far to say if this relates to a tree in a public area, eg on a pavement/roadside, or in a private garden.
