Virgin Enterprises is suing Brightline, a transport company owned by Fortress, the New York-based investment manager, in the High Court over about $250 million in fees that it says it is owed from a 20-year branding deal.
Brightline says it will not pay because the Virgin brand has become “degraded”, triggering an escape clause in the contract.
The hearing is set for July.
