Very poor broadband speed recently yet starts shows no issues despite lots of other people reporting simi

Very poor broadband speed recently (Central Reading area) yet VM status page shows no issues despite lots of other people reporting similar issues. What is really going on? Has anyone had any explanation, news of a fix time etc?

Re: Very poor broadband speed recently yet starts shows no issues despite lots of other people reporting

status page is for major issues

only people in your area matter - people throughout the network can have similar issues but they wont be related to your issue - effect can be the same - cause is not

so are slow speeds wired or wifi - always test wired

post some info

log into hub3 - 192.168.0.1 [or 192.168.100.1 if in modem mode] - DON'T SIGN IN, click - click router status [centre of screen] - and post the downstream and upstream figures - to see those press on the grey buttons/boxes labelled - upstream - downstream

if its an earlier hub button is top right

Latest info below fyi. So sorry for trouble - I found out what the speed issue was. For some reason my Mac had connected to wifi from a Devolo power line in use elsewhere in the house, rather than the HUB 4.  Now I've switched back normal sort of speeds have returned!   3.0 Downstream channels

thats good that you have found an issue - thats not all the stat but does give a snapshot - downstream looks ok - whist there are many more channels i am sure they will be fine - the upstream is as high as it wants to be - if you are getting good upload speeds i would not worry too much about them but if you start to see reduced upload speeds or see the connection drop for no reason post back with the upstream speeds - if they have risen then you need a tech to sort them

Re: Very poor broadband speed recently yet starts shows no issues despite lots of other people reporting

I'm a bit suspicious of the high upstream power levels.  Might be worth @prado2020  posting the Network log, and perhaps setting up a BQM, that'll show what's going on with your VM connection.  Post a link to a live, shared graph here and we'll see what's happening.  Usually needs to run for 24 hours before we can draw reasonable conclusions, but the live graph will continuously update so you can do that immediately.
