Stats from v6 tivos & router

Hi

I've signed up on virgin media's website on my account to get marketing information from virgin media which is interesting reading 🙂.

They send me stats via email. Eg persentages from my Router, V6 & Landline usage over the last 90days. To keep the persentages accurate. How often should I reboot my equipment. Eg router & V6 tivos. I usually reboot them once a month every 28 days

Re: Stats from v6 tivos & router

you shouldn't be rebooting them at all unless you have issues with them.
they are designed to remain powered on at all times.

OK that's good to know 🙂. I won't reboot my equipment anymore. I'm guessing rebooting upsets the information virgin media collects from them? 🤔

Television, broadband, landline usage stats.

Hi

I've signed upto virgin media's marketing information on my account. I get emails showing my television, broadband & landline usage stats which are interesting to read. To get the accurate stats which virgin media email to me. Does my equipment need to be left on all the time and never rebooted? 🤔 I've been rebooting my equipment once a week as of now. I get mixed information. Do I reboot once a month, once a week or never? Please advise 🙂

Re: Television, broadband, landline usage stats.

any reason for posting this again?
although strangely you say you reboot every once a week in this thread, and every 28 days in the other thread.

did the first thread not give you an answer? https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Community-Natter/Stats-from-v6-tivos-amp-router/m-p/4337640#M52...

Re: Television, broadband, landline usage stats.

Hey spgray

Sorry. Ive been rebooting my equipment once a week. But the call centre tech team as of now advise once a month 🤔 so by you saying never. Are you saying the equipment software does the rebooting automatically? Also for the stats I get emailed to me. Does my equipment send my usage information to virgin for them to collate and send back to me in an email?

Re: Television, broadband, landline usage stats.

firstly, why create a new thread?
secondly, why say weekly in one thread and monthly in the other?
why would the call centre say to reboot monthly?

this whole things smells fishy to me.

Re: Television, broadband, landline usage stats.

No reason

Depending who I speak to. The advise is monthly or weekly. I've had various problems with my equipment that's why 🙂. Anyway my question is. Do I need to reboot my equipment? 🤔 Also does virgin media collect usage information from my equipment for statistics? I'm asking as I get emails showing my usage information.
