I was hoping to cancel my contract 30 days from now and send back the equipment (router) on the day after it ends, right when I leave the country.
They told me they can only book the equipment collection slot at least 15 days AFTER the contract has ended, when I'm long gone. I could arrange a friend but instead of burdening someone, what are other options?
I asked for the repercussions of just not sending the equipment back. They warned me it might become a mark on my credit score, which would impact my ability to buy a house if I ever go back. Is this true? It sounds outlandish for a bit of plastic. The website rather says there will be a fee, but I couldn't figure out how much it is. What is the worst that can happen, and do you have some other ideas that would not involve burdening an?

Have you viewed the info here
https://www.virginmedia.com/help/return-or-recycle-equipment
which includes the option to request packaging or print a label?
The costs for not returning equipment are listed at the bottom of this page.

Hi @b1onny
You can request returns packaging from <<< here >>>
You can also print your own label and use your own packaging, be sure to enclose a covering letter with your name and account address and account number, equipment returned etc, and keep a copy of the returns receipt that the store gives to you.
You can use either or both of the following links to find your nearest returns store (they contain different addresses)
