Move green cabinet?

We have a (dilapidated) green virgin media cabinet outside our house that restricts access to the driveway. Is it possible to have this moved over by just a few feet please?

Thank you

Re: Move green cabinet?

is it possible? yes
is it likely? probably not.

the cost of any such works would need to be covered by yourself. so that would be the initial survey cost at between £200 and £300. and then if deemed it can be moved then tens of thousands of pounds to facilitate the move. all costs would be passed on to yourself.

Re: Move green cabinet?

Some of these cabinets look pretty grotty but are still operational and if so, VM is unlikely to move then unless there is a health or safety reason to do so.

Re: Move green cabinet?

Hi there @Deltadelta49

Welcome to the forums and for your first post 🙂

Sorry that one of our cabinets seems to be restricting access to your driveway - do you have a dropped curb?

If you could pop us a picture of the cabinet or provide us with a postcode, we can certainly check to see if this is indeed one of our cabinets and we can go from there for you.

Cheers

Re: Move green cabinet?

The cabinet was obviously installed donkey's years ago quite possibly by one of VM predecessors, and it would not have blocked an existing dropped kerb.

And no council would permit a dropped kerb with a cabinet blocking access.

What typically happens is that a homeowner wants to park a car on their front yard but finds a cabinet or pavement cover in the way.
