Damaged Street Cabinet

A street cabinet on Burleigh Gardens N14 has been damaged for over 2 months.  Barnet Council issued a section 81 notice and Virgin put some orange barriers around the damaged cabinet about 6 weeks ago.  It is now being used for rubbish tipping.  It is unfair to leave this cabinet in such a state on our streets where we live.  I have made 8 calls to Virgins helpline and nothing is being done.  Have suggested to the Council that the Cabinet be removed permanently and they are reviewing the options available to them.  Please get this repaired.

Re: Damaged Street Cabinet

the rubbish tipping is a council issue, not virgin. rubbish issues should be reported to the council.
the cabinet won't be removed as it's part of the service provision.

Re: Damaged Street Cabinet

Thanks.  I know rubbish is a council issue I am merely pointing out that because Virgin have yet to repair the cabinet 2 months on pedestrians are dropping their litter.  Councils have been given more powers to remove unsightly street furniture which this virgin cabinet has now become because Virgin have not repaired it.

Re: Damaged Street Cabinet

but it's still providing service even though it may be damaged.
remove it and all the virgin customers served by it will lose service.

Re: Damaged Street Cabinet

Then I would politely suggest that Virgin get a move on and repair it. They have had over 2 months now.

Re: Damaged Street Cabinet

it has been "made safe" by putting the barriers round it.
I'm sure it'll be repaired once it reaches the top of the list of jobs.

Re: Damaged Street Cabinet

Hi SG14,

Thanks for your post.

Can you please send me a picture of the cabinet and disclose the full address of the cabinet?

I can pass it onto the team who can hopefully get out to look at this as soon as possible.

If this has already been assigned, giving me a picture to send on will hopefully escalate the issue for you
