Cloud

Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on something that's niggling.  Am I right in thinking that back in the day when Virginmedia was first started, there was a facility to save things to a "cloud"?. I have a recollection of uploading photos to a storage hub.....

Re: Cloud

Hi Clairebel123,

You've got a good memory. VM removed that service on 28th April 2016

Re: Cloud

well that's a pain, I used to backup all my stuff and then we moved and got Sky so didn't receive the letter about it all shutting down. Lost loads of photos 😞

Re: Cloud

top tip - never rely on 1 cloud source to store items you wouldn't want to lose.
multiple backups all the time.

Re: Cloud

plus moving away from VM would of closed the cloud account anyway

Re: Cloud

One option is to store your photos using Amazon, all subscribers get 5GB storage free. As a Prime member I get unlimited photo storage. Having said that my main cloud storage providers are Google (I pay for this) and Microsoft's OneDrive. I also do local backups on my NAS over the LAN.

Re: Cloud

Hi I use Google and Amazon photos, when I download or take photograph on a device they automatically load on all my devices and both those storage outlets. Regards Micky

Re: Cloud

Apple iCloud is also available if you have any Apple device.
