I do not have a VM mobile number and I am signed up to the TPS but constantly get unintelligible calls from a noisy call centre on behalf of VM asking me to verify my details under the data protection act so I can have a personalised offer only applicable to me etc. I have no objection to VM marketing but I have made it clear on many occasions that my mobile number is for emergency purposes and account sign in security only. My number is only known to a few people for emergency purposes so when it rings I fear the worst. My preference has always been and always will be to contact me by post or email for marketing purposes not by my VM landline and definitely not on my mobile. If VM do not uphold my request to have my mobile number removed from their list of marketing calls I will leave no stone unturned to have action taken against them. VM STOP CALLING MY MOBILE NUMBER FOR MARKETING CALLS.
The link only has the option to opt out of all offers with no option to opt out of offers via my mobile phone number only! I will call VM on my landline and ask for my mobile number to be completely removed from their records.
Just called 150 and an automated message informed me as a reminder that I have not opted in to marketing at all including phone and sms and I should press 1 to opt in. currently on permanent hold. Just got another 2 marketing calls while typing this.
I finally got to speak to someone from VM and asked for my emergency mobile phone number to be removed from all their databases. They have assured me that this has been done and I will no longer receive calls from them on my emergency mobile number and any calls I do receive in the future will not be from them.
If you are receiving calls from VM please call them and ask for your mobile number to be removed from their database. They have assured me that removing your mobile number will have no impact on your account but you will receive marketing another way instead. Good luck!
