I seem to be continuously loosing connection to catch up, on demand and apps. Also when playing back recorded HD programmes the picture gets pixelated and jumpy. Any help with these issues greatly welcomed.
Sounds like you have signal level issues. Customer services ops can check these remotely & send out engineers if required. Give 150 a call if you have a Virgin phone (Landline or mobile), otherwise a standard rate call to 0345 454 1111 will get you in touch. You can also wait for a response from the Forum Team here, but you may be waiting a few days.
