BBC1, Channel 4, no signal

Over the last few days a couple of programmes failed to record and those channels at least at various times have not been available.  Trying to watch one of them via Catch Up next day also failed to load at the first attempt, no error message, just a black screen.

Together with the Box getting slower and slower to respond to key-presses, and the new cable modem/router taking several minutes to boot up after switch on, the quality of service is definitely going downhill while the price goes up.  Are we the victims in Virgin Media's race for ever higher download speeds?

Time for some quotes from an alternative provider, methinks.

Hello PaulH2011,

 

Sorry to hear this is happening, I have located your account and I can see there are some signal issues with the TIVo® box so I would like to arrange for a technician to take a look at this for you.

 

If you click on the purple envelope at the top right of the screen you will see a message waiting for you with further information.
