0330 call charges from landline

I thought that calls to a 0330 number were at the same basic rate as any other 01 or 02 numbers. Apparently not with VM, as I was charged a nice sum of £8.42 + vat for a call that lasted just 149 seconds. That works out at approximately 5p per second.

Can someone please clarify this, as it doesn't seem right.

Re: 0330 call charges from landline

Virgin's call charges are found  at

In the smallish print at the bottom is

What's included?

All our talk plans include calls to numbers beginning with 01, 02, 03 and 0870 and to Virgin Mobile numbers. Depending on the talk plans you choose, you can natter away in the evenings, at weekends or anytime without having to pay a penny extra.

Different talk plans have different times for allowances.

The call charges (from Feb 2016) are in this document

The keyword might be "geographic".  I don't know if a 0330 is geographic or non-geographic.

From July 2016 they will change

So at first glance it does look wrong.  Better to ring 150 and query it?

Re: 0330 call charges from landline

Hi avalon60,

Thank you for taking the time to post on the Forum. I'm sorry to hear that there is a problem with the billing of a call to a 0330 number.

Checking into this further for you, I can see that you called in, as Argy advised, and spoke with our Customer Services about this already.

Please let us know if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,
