swollen battery

sony experia z3 , back cracked so thought i may have caused it ,took it to local repair phone shop for new back to be fitted thinking it was my fault on opening the phone the battery was swelling and was advised it was dangerous and not to use ,contacted virgin, explained the facts and was told to return it for repair . result , its all my fault and you want £204 to replace the battery ,i know the warranty was breached because you did not look at the phone, but a dangerous battery , not my fault i,d say, sony fault ,Smiley Embarassedbut no one wants the blame ,great , pack code ,leaving virgin and never buy a sony phone . hope this helps anyone thinking of buying this make and joining this network

Just can't understand how a swollen battery can be a user fault, did you feed it much junk food?
BB 200 - Hub 3, Phone Talk w/ends, Mobile Sim only £9 and £5 big bundle sim. Customer since 1993.
