Transferring contacts from one SIM card to another

I'm looking for inspiration!  It is about time I upgraded my android smartphone. What is holding me back is that that my routine contacts are all held on my SIM card (full size). My new phone will be bound to to use a micro/nano SIM. I'll want to transfer my contacts to the new SIM. Best way?

(I can sort the transfer of the number, and this is all with Virgin Mobile).

Re: Transferring contacts from one SIM card to another

For me, best way would be to copy all your existing SIM contacts to the Google account your Android phone is attached to.

I did this years ago at an Android phone upgrade, and now my contacts automatically sync to any Android devices I have, and it means I'm unlikely to ever lose them.
