SAMSUNG S7 unable to Software update


I'm unable to update my Samsung s7 via OTA or smartswitch.

OTA : unable to update software. A network or server error occurred.

smartswitch: unable to start software update.

Would virgin like to clarify about software and security update for Samsung s7

Welcome to the Community Forum. I'm sorry that you are experiencing problems updating your software on your Samsung S7. Has this been sorted out for you?

If you are still having problems, have you been able to run a manual update:


1. Touch Apps

2. Touch Settings

3. Scroll to and touch About device

4. Touch Download updates manually

5. The phone will check for updates

6. If an update isn't available, press the Home button. If an update is available, wait for it to download.


If this hasn't worked for you, please give us a call on  789 (Freephone from a Virgin Mobile) or 0345 6000 789 (from any other phone) or 150 (free from a Virgin Media landline) so that we can get you through to a Mobile Tech to investigate this further.
