Ordered a new SIM card but already charged

Hi,

I'm a new customer and I've just ordered a sim only monthly SIM card ( on the 30th nov) which was dispatched on 1 Dec and hasn't yet arrived however today I received an email saying I have a direct debit bill due mid this month for the period up till Dec 1st. I don't really get why I should already be paying my monthly contract if the SIM card hasn't even bed dispatched never mind arrived ( the bill appears to be for the period 1st November to 30th) . Surely my first month should run from the day I activate the SIM card. Is anyone able to provide any advice on this?

I'm sorry for any frustration caused on our part regarding this. The first payment is taken automatically and can't be activated from the moment the sim comes online.
