Moving house is a bad enough time, but it's not really Virgin's fault. All carriers have their own little blackspots where you can't get a signal. You're suffering more than most because you've put all your eggs in one basket.
One of the things you should perhaps have checked is the mobile coverage when you were viewing the house. The reason for the 14-day cooling-off period on a new contract is to establish within reason that you can get a signal in all the places you most likely need it.
