Mobile travel pass not working and charged for data

I bought a data travel pack on arrival in Switzerland - a country listed on the data pack info - and it doesn't seem to be working. I received the text saying its active but checking status since has suggested I don't have a travel pass.

I phoned virgin and was told the pack was active so have been using data roaming. It now looks like it's not active and I've been charged for the data I've used.

What is going on?

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting. I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble with the travel pass abroad which has potentially resulted in you being charged extra.


If you're in the EU (or Switzerland) then you shouldn't be able to use mobile data unless you purchase a data pass. This is to protect you from any unwanted charges. Please see section 8 here.


To further establish what is happening, could you please answer the following questions:-


What network are you connected to?

Have you been making calls or texts while there?
