Mobile data charges abroad. Very unfair..........


Before going on holiday(USA) recently I checked my phone was ok to go abroad with and my account said it was.

When we arrived at our villa I turned the phone on and it wouldn't connect to any of the providers so turned off again and back on to no avail.

I left the phone hoping it would connect and then received a text on the 22nd March(12 days into the holiday) at 21.56 welcoming me to America and stating all charges applicable.

At 21.57 I then receive another stating that I had spent £35 on mobile web so far(1 minute after my welcome)

At 21.58 I then receive another stating you have reached your £45 limit(2 minutes after my welcome)

I will add that I was not in the villa when these texts arrived.


This I feel is very unfair and has anyone else had similar experience or can offer some words of advice.
