EU data package problem

I'm currently on holiday in Spain, and having been browsing the Web here after buying a data package for £5 before leaving UK, decided to check my usage so far by texting STATUS 23456 . However, instead of receiving a balance I received a message telling me how to purchase a data package!?? I HAVE one....but now I'm concerned my phone doesn't realise that... am I being charged freely for using data abroad despite having bought a pass??

Hi lollyryan,

I'm fairly sure that without the purchase of an EU data pass your phone wouldn't connect to mobile data whilst in Spain.

Therefore it's fair to assume that the mobile data you have used is from your allowance.

You may be able to check by logging your Virgin Media Mobile account
