Hi taysarah,

what network was it that you were charged for calling?
(Lycamobile springs to mind)

Was it a UK mobile network?

I am not sure about the network (it's my sons phone that received the charges) but yes it's a UK mobile.

Thanks

Re: Charged for calling another network when got unlimited airtime

Hi taysarah,

I would suggest that you call customer services (free) on 789 from a Virgin mobile or 0345 6000 789 from any other phone (Standard Rate call or included in any minutes) to ask about this charge.

If it was inclusive in your allowance and has been incorrectly applied, it should be refunded.

Post back to let us know.

Re: Charged for calling another network when got unlimited airtime

OK so, it turns out that the unlimited part (that I wanted) is only for virgin mobiles - it's 1000 minutes to other networks.

My fault didn't read the agreement well enough.

Thanks for your help

Does that mean you have gone over your 1000 minutes? That seems a lot of calls.

Yes I thought that so have just added up the minutes and he (my son) has gone over the 1000 limit by 221 minutes - be careful as charges are for calling another network are massive - lesson learnt he won't do it again 😐

Re: Charged for calling another network when got unlimited airtime

Well they are 40p a minute but go up to 45p per minute as of the 1st July. 221 minutes would be £11.05 more than now!

You will have to seriously limit or look for an unlimited minutes tariff.

Think I might ring again to find out where the £155 comes from.

He will be limited and won't do it again.

Thanks

You might want to suggest he uses the ear buds and microphone. 20+ hours with a massive source of electromagnetic radiation less than an inch from his brain can't be doing him any good...
