youtube and network

Ive got a wired ethernet connection to the tivo. does the app use the network as i switched the router off and i could still use youtube. I thought maybe the speed off my internet might stop the stuttering I have 200mbps and the superhub 2, so i was just wondering if ive connected it wrong or it doesnt use the internet connection for youtube, thanks

Re: youtube and network

It doesn't use your broadband connection, the Tivo has a built in modem with a 10Mbps connection for You Tube and other streaming apps.  The Ethernet connection on the Tivo is currently just used for the TV Anywhere app's virtual remote control functions.
