No tv signal

I have had an error message occur when I have tried reconnecting my device.

I have it in storage over the past few weeks and now it is reconnected there is no signal.

I have looked online and the only error in my area is an issue when entering a pin number when purchasing on demand. Nothing to do with the signal itself.

Any ideas what I can try before I call for an engineer?

If you have had your box powered off for some time, it will have been de-activated from the cable network.

You will have to call in to get it re-activated. There should be no need to get an engineer out, assuming you have connected it up correctly.
