When trying to add another laptop on to Hub5 cannot see the hub when I search on wifi. All other devices in the house, i.e. phones, laptops, speakers etc can see the network, 20 devices in total .
What am i missing?

Does the additional laptop have Wi-Fi adaptor that supports the 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi only i.e. 802.11b/g/n aka Wi-Fi 4 ?
The VM Hub 5 supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) on the 2.4GHz band and this causes issues with some 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi devices that like your laptop, fail to detect the Hub 5 WI-Fi signal.
A possible workaround is in the Hub 5 menu adjust the Hub 5 2.4GHz Wi-Fi settings from 802.11 b/g/n/ax to either 802.11 g/n/ax or 802.11 n/ax Do either of these options work for your laptop ?
Failing this, a new USB Wi-Fi that is dual band ( 2.4 & 5GHz ) may be required for the laptop.
