New hub

I have been a Virgin Broadband customer for 9 years and have never had the need to change my equipment.

On Saturday I received a letter advising me that unless I upgraded to a Hub 3 by 30th April my broadband would stop working.

I have two points-

!) Why do I need a new hub when my existing equipment is fine.

2) In view of the age my equipment (a small black hub attached to a wireless router) will I need an engineer to help with the installation. I would add I am not the most technical person in the world!

Thanks in anticipation of any assistance provided

Re: New hub

If you don't upgrade you will lose your service. VM are switching off the older signal that your hub uses. They, rightly, don't want to run two BB signals at the same time. so what is called DOCSIS 3 will be the only one and you need a new compatible hub for this. It's a simple matter to swop hubs and instructions will be provided in the box.

I do not work for VM. The advice I give is based on my best understanding of VM policy and practice. You rely on it at your own risk.
