Engineers phoning CS

A while back there was a bit of a mix up with my order and the engineer ended up spending ages waiting in a queue to talk to customer services (or whichever department it was he was phoning to sort it out with). He even had the misfortune of his phone dying half way through trying to sort it out and having to ring and wait in another queue.

Shouldn't engineers on a job have some sort of back door in. I'm sure this must have messed this up for whoever was after me as he spent well over half an hour waiting in queues...
