Hi Noisey,
As the VPN works with out using the router, then this is probably the culprit. I would advise resetting it by using the pin hole reset on the back of the router. Setting it back up and trying again. If this has been done and not resolved the fault I shall order a replacement. PM me when this has been done and we shall get a new one out to you.

Hi Noisey,
I have ordered you a replacement router which should be with you shortly.
If you can advise if this resolves the issue.

Wireless router has arrived thanks.
ironically I will not be able to install due to work commitments, I have to travel with work so I will not be able to install for a week (I currently am full of cold so in no mood to instal & I have to pack) !!
Thanks, I will confirm if it works when I am able to install.

I have now returned to working from home and have had chance to install the router sent to me.
I followed the instructions:
Inserted the cd & followed it's instructions screen by screen
plugged in the router:
Plugged in the ethernet cable to my laptop: (only one cable in pack two are required...- too short, lucky I had a spare cable)
Plugged in the ethernet cable between the supplied wireless router and the cable router:
Pressed "next"
then the message "Click'n Connect can't discover the router. Please check the cable connection and make sure the router is powered on".
I tried all cables, swapped cables over, checked power adaptors, I reset both routers, unplugged & replugged in both routers....... all kinds of combinations
but each time I re-ran the cd the same error message came up.
I have re-connected my netgear wireless in order to do something but the Virgin router is useless.
Help required once again PLEASE ....

I can't see how to pm you directly as the relpacement wireless router you supplied does not connect to the existing cable router.
