Router Hack?

While browsing on Facebook on my phone I clicked on a link which took me to the website I wanted but then seemed to redirect to something strange. I closed down the browser immediately.

im now worried that this may have done something awful to the router and it may be hacked.  I’m not hugely clued up on these things so would appreciate help.

What you saw was due to your clicking on trash links or adverts in Facebook.

The VM Hub has not been hacked, there is no need to be concerned in that area.

The Hub won't be hacked. If anything is going to be hacked by a dodgy link it will be the device you are browsing with. That's why virus checks are recommended.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

I have done a factory rest in my iPhone and restored from a previous backup

Then you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
