Just had a letter from VM explaining the 3.5gb new data per month limit but also that tethering will not be allowed with effect from 28/3/13 for anyone (no matter when you joined).
Been OK while it lasted but it's goodbye from me, VM. This sort of move is just playing into the hands of 3 imo. Yes, I'll be paying £25/mth but all the uncertainties/nonsense/changing of the goalposts etc etc we have had with VM will hopefully be a thing of the past.

I can second this. *the tethering end, not the date precisely* In reply to an email I sent to complaints.
*We've recently changed our Terms and Conditions, as you know, to inform
customers that Tethering will no longer be allowed on our network. This change is applicable to all customers currently using our service whether they are new in contract or in their last month. As per our service agreement, we will be allowing customers the chance to cancel their agreements with no penalty if they don't agree with this change. Full details are due to be released.*
This email was from the 22nd.

Got the same letter.
Bit gutted, been with VM for years.
Seems a bit mad to ban tethering but not even offer an add on option.
I am in the process of changing to One plan on three for less then paying with VM.
Good of them to let us cancel without penalty though. However, will wait to see the devil in the details on this.

You maybe able to get out of your contract as a result of this , i think someone mentioned in a thread that the letter did say something about this. If you check the tethering not allowed thread, last page.
